NATIONAL CHAMPION- ARCHERY LEADER

Louie Rangel started winning tournaments the first year he took up archery in 1956 and has gone on to this day leaving behind him a very impressive list of championships in all phases of National Archery Tournaments. His involvement and enthusiasm have also led him to being a leader not only in the tournament world but also in bowhunting interests. In these early days, his enthusiasm for archery led him to winning in 1963 the world's most prestigious tournament of all, the NFAA National Field Championship that was held at the Enchanted Forest in Southern California. This instantly gave Louie Rangel national recognition, which he so richly deserved, but that was just the beginning of his many future accomplishments, and but a few are listed as follows: CBH Championships, includes both Field and Broadhead Barebow Championships in 1963. He took the very first Las Vegas "Castaway Hotel" Money Shoot in 1964. Louie Rangel went on during the following years and won even more of the top money at tournaments in Vegas.

In 1976, he not only co-founded the San Diego Bowhunter's Team Event, but won first place in his division. Again, the CBH Field and Broadhead fell to his tournament skills in 1977, and the CBH Broadhead Championship again in 1983.

Organizations such as Riverside Archers, San Diego Archers and the Professional and Challengers organizations have bestowed Louie Rangel with life memberships. His involvement with bowhunting is nationwide, but in particular, with the California Big Game Club. Because of such involvement over the years, many of the largest manufacturers of archery equipment in the world have sought his advice by placing him on their advisory staffs. All of his tournament efforts are now being devoted to Hoyt USA as one of their top tournament advisors and shooters. All through his working career he has been deeply involved worldwide with the installation, processing and manufacturing of aluminum products, and it is no wonder that he is now Easton Aluminum Inc's product development manager at Salt Lake City, Utah.

Louie Rangel's involvement in archery has been continuous since 1956, but most important to all of archery, his total involvement is still continuing.

Louie Rangel-a champion then, and a champion now.
